Why Should I Go?
Bring together the sassy and outspoken Ginger St James and the feisty and boisterous Mary Simon and you can be sure there'll be some hoot'n hollering from this pair. Either one of these performers can and have commanded the stage with just their own material, but together as the pistolettes with Justine (the bass machine) on bass they reach a whole other level - an entertaining act not to be missed.
Heaven for Real , Baby Cages , Goodgal (DJ) @ HAVN - April 19th 2017Date: April 19th, 2017 Genre: pop to goth pop Time: 8:30 $10 / pwyc all ages https://www.facebook.com/events/443912272615509/ Who Should Go? If your musical tastes have good range, this show will test them a bit. Heaven for Real is pretty much a garage pop band. If you like Sloan, Eric's Trip, or Bright Eyes for instance, you'll probably enjoy Heaven for Real. Baby Cages is much darker. Cool vocals that remind me of 80's goth, and a sound that is synth heavy with kind of a velvet underground vibe. Why Should I Go? Both bands are really interesting, if you can get past the genre flip, I think this will be a really good show. For the next few days the fine folks at Hamilton Festival Theatre Company (the people that bring you the Hamilton Fringe Festival every summer) are presenting a imaginative and fun theatre experience that is a perfect respite from the cold of February. You should go! It's a really fun experience. Frost Bites is staged at the Cotton Factory located at 270 Sherman Street North. This spectacular facility was up until as recently as 1972 home to the The Imperial Cotton Company Limited. In it's heyday the Cotton Company was only second to the steel industry in its contribution to the local economy. Today the the building has taken on a second life as a home to many local art and creative based enterprises and as an event space. The Hamilton Fringe Frost Bites Festival has taken full advantage of this remarkable and historic building to stage several bite sized theatrical presentations from a number of genres and when I say full advantage I mean it.
