Who should go?

If you like acoustic music with great vocals, harmonies and a band that knows how to have fun - The Red Hill Valleys and their supporting crew for this show definitely fit the bill.

Why should I go?

The Red Hill Valleys (band website) sway between country, folk, Americana and southern rock. I like this band because they don't take themselves too seriously and you feel like you're listening to a bunch of friends at a house party - you'll love it. Check out this car jam to see what I mean

On top of that, they have a really great line up for the night with Sweet Roger, Mattie Leon and Abigal Lapelle. Try not to miss this show.

About Mattie Leon

https://www.mattieleon.com/
Mattie has showcased at Canadian Music Week (Toronto), was a semi finalist in CBC's searchlight competition (you may have heard him on CBC 1).

He describes his music as a beautiful balance between R&B/Folk and Pop and if you're into Ryan Adams, John Mayer, Paul Simon or bands like blue rodeo, or the band, you'll probably find something to like with Mattie's material.
"You see this guy bounce between guitar and piano…equally comfortable on both and with a voice that melts like butter on toast" - Talia Shlanger - CBC Radio 2

About Abigal Lapell

https://www.abigaillapell.com/
Toronto’s Abigail Lapell draws freely from folk-roots, indie and punk rock traditions. She received the 2016 Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award from the Ontario Arts Council, and NOW Magazine called her a “musician to watch” in 2017.

Lapell has toured across North America, Europe and the U.K., performing on vocals, piano, harmonica and finger style guitar. HIDE NOR HAIR, her sophomore CD/LP, is out now on Coax Records.
"Dreamy and atmospheric... powerful, sweet voice and warm guitar sound"
— NOW Toronto

About Sweet Roger

https://sweetroger.com/
Hailing from Montreal, Sweet Roger combines folk, Americana, and alternative influences into lush arrangements ripe with melodic hooks and poignant lyrics

Sweet Roger comes to Hamilton ahead of his Canadian Music Week Performance. He could possibly be the highlight of this entire lineup.

About the venue

This Ain’t Hollywood - one of the best music bars in Canada, and with the best sound guy in the city you’re always guaranteed a good show. The entrance is at the side of the building (look for the patio), great owners, great staff and awesome music. Weeknight shows often start early (8pm usually) so if you have to work in the morning you can still go. Check times on the website to be sure.
